We offer mums care following pregnancy to address any issues they may have encountered.
We work with all patients to achieve their specific health goals however, commonly mums report a decrease in pain, decrease in use of pain mediation and more comfortable births following chiropractic care.
Conditions we often see include; lower back pain, neck pain, leg pain, pelvic pain and SPD however pain and symptoms are often a later sign of dysfunction so this isn’t the only reason to seek advice.
Could your child benefit from chiropractic care?
“When some parents think about having their infant checked for misalignment of the spine, I think they may envision the same force or technique being used on their infant that we use on them. However, when adjusting a baby or child, I use about the same pressure that would be used to test a tomato for ripeness, an amount that would not cause discomfort. In fact, if the infant is asleep during the checkup and adjustment; they will rarely even wake up.”
Dr Christian Caswell at our Milton Keynes Clinic can help.
The best time to have your child checked is day one as at this point your child is quickly adapting to their new environment. It is estimated that up to 40 kg is put through your baby’s spine during the birth process, this is commonly distributed through the upper neck. Instrument assisted birth and caesarean section has been associated with damage to this area of the spine as well as developmental delays and learning difficulties in later life.
The corrections made to children are very different to that of an adult and use little more pressure than you can apply to a ripe tomato. Mothers often find that chiropractic helps with a range of different problems including, sleeping difficulties, feeling problems and excessive crying. These are often see quickly but your chiropractor will advise you on a schedule to optimise your baby’s results.
